What is the view of Primates Incorporated regarding
primate research? Since Primates Incorporated combines views from many
different backgrounds, we realize a need to maintain a middle ground
between varying viewpoints. We feel maintaining a middle ground will
maximize the retirement of monkeys that come from research and will
improve primate welfare at a faster pace. We would like to improve
primate welfare by focusing on the 3Rs of research: Reduction,
Refinement, & Replacement, as well as two additional Rs: Retirement & Rehabilitation.
We plan on publishing what we learn and will send the materials to
anyone on the Primates Incorporated mailing list.
